I’ve tried the expensive Apple TV 4K, but this simple 4K is my favourite set-top box. In one house, because it’s cheap I can have three box like this in my house.
The Mi Box S runs on Android TV with integrated Google Assistant and Chromecast. Compared to Apple TV products, you can install VLC and Kodi applications to play your local video files. You can simply play back from a USB stick plugged into the back of the box or play files over the network from your NAS (SMB). You can also cast from your phone to your TV with Google Photos, Youtube or Google Chrome. The latest update supports Amazon Prime Video.
